They are absolutely the best for short trips. Easy to carry with a strap or just attach it on top of your carry on. Some even comes with shoes compartment.
With 4 wheels and compact designs, carry-ons are a must-have. Just be careful what material you choose. Soft or hard shells both have drawbacks.
Unlike the rest of the ones I mentioned I would recommend splurging a little more for checked bags as they have more risk of being damaged.
