Before you get started on transitioning your home to minimalism, you need to take into account what you have. Simply putting together a list of items with their season will be a good start.
By storage, I mean storing things in your home that you don't use all year round such as Christmas ornaments. There could be more seasonal stuff so store them nicely in bins and tuck them away.
By spark joy test, I'm referring to Marie Condo method. You need to ask yourself if any of the items currently in your home sparks joy to you. If they don't, it is time to let them go by donating or selling.
A minimalist home doesn't mean you shouldn't have any decor. Just be very very selective about it. You don't need a lot to make a statement something as simple as a vase would do it.
